Year 2 Retreat – IMPORTANT UPDATE
This morning, we were notified by Circle V Ranch camp that “due to the extensive damage caused by the storms in January, US Forest Service has notified Circle V Ranch Camp to stop operation until March 14.”
The letter notice from Los Padres National Forest
This means we will have to RELOCATE the retreat for both the Year 2 Track A and Year 2 Track B retreats.
Our new location is at our parish, Santa Clara Church.
The updated pick-up date/time is now Saturday @ 9pm.
We still have an amazing day and a half planned with music, games, talks, leader testimonies, meals, confession, adoration & Mass!
Please carefully read the updated retreat details:
Year 2 Track A Retreat: Friday, February 3-Saturday, February 4
Year 2 Track B Retreat: Friday, February 24-Saturday, February 25
- Check-in at Santa Clara Parish Center @ 6pm on Friday. Eat dinner before arriving.
- Pick-up at Santa Clara Parish Center SATURDAY @ 9pm.
- Sleeping arrangements: We will sleep in the Parish Center with a separate room for boys and girls. If you have an air-mattress, please bring it! If you have any extras to share, we would appreciate the help! I will also have extra air-mattresses for those who need one.
- Bathroom arrangements: We will be using the bathrooms in the parish center. There will be NO SHOWERS available
- Meals: We will be catering breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday.
Updated packing list (updates have been bolded):
- Luggage should be clearly labeled with your name
- Sleeping bag, sheet and pillow. (air-mattress if you have one)
- Bath towel (no longer needed as showers will not be available)
- Flashlight: Please be sure to label the flashlight and bring extra batteries. (no longer needed)
- General toiletries: soap, toothbrush, shampoo(no longer needed), chap-stick, sunscreen and sandals for shower (no longer needed).
- Clothing, jacket/sweater and close toed shoes. (Always be ready to layer for the change of temperature throughout the day, it will get cold! Always be prepared with a second pair of shoes.)
- Messy Clothes (aka clothes that can get dirty!)
- Please Note: All items should be labeled with your name, phone number, and group name.
- We invite you to bring a snack to share with about 10 people, although it is not required.
- DO NOT BRING:
- Please, do not bring anything that is irreplaceable.
- If you bring a cell phone, it will need to stay in your luggage.
Updated Retreat Fee: The updated retreat fee is $60. We are offering a $60 refund for those that have completed the initial $120 Retreat Fee that was due February 1, 2023. Please call the front office to receive your $60 refund. They will need a name to whom the check should be made out to and a phone number to contact you when the check is ready for pick-up. If you still have your receipt, bring it with you. Please note, it will take a couple days for the check to be ready.
If you cannot attend this retreat, a parent MUST contact Amber in regards to a make-up retreat. A retreat is a requirement by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and your Confirmation may be postponed if you do not attend a retreat. Please plan accordingly and notify Amber as soon as possible with any conflicts.
